What to Look for When Winter Fashion Arrives

By The BloomsBoutique Team February 17, 2014 Leave a comment Go to comments

  • Sheer knits and chunky thick knits, contrasting fabrics! Try belting a chunky knit for definition, or wearing your favourite knit with a long pleated skirt.

  • Lace brocade particularly feminine colours and metallic sheens.

  • Heavy trenches, belted to define the waist.

  • Belts in either a thick waistband or low slung on the hips. Look for those with heavy embellishments and structural details.

  • Hats; think bright, fedoras, fur, beanies, military style, ear hats and caps.

  • Thigh high boots. Wear these over tight fitting jeans, or with those short skirts. Finish with a trench coat for extra warmth and style.

  • Silk Shirt which tie at the neck.

  • Fur is still big, like knits and the trench, try belting your favourite fur for a new look.

  • Cowboys and Indians; think fringes, hats, Indian prints and belts.

  • Longer hemlines are in, look for pleated midi skirts for a winter staple.

  • Colours; Soft, shimmering metallics and leather treatments, earthy and mysterious greens and browns inspired by furs, soft blues and greys, ocean and midnight blues, chartreuse and lime, feminine pinks and blush, east meets west.
